CHENNAI: Police have arrested a woman, her son and daughter for manhandling the Ennore inspector of police when he tried to intervene in their quarrel in the wee hours of Wednesday.
Following a call to the control room of the Avadi police commissionerate about a clash at the Tsunami Colony in Ennore, Cladstone David, law and order inspector who was on night rounds, went to the spot.
Police said the quarrel was between Dinesh and Sarath and their neighbour Suresh from who they borrowed ₹1,000 a month ago. As David was questioning Dinesh and Sarath, Suresh, 31, his mother Amutha, 48, and sister Santhakumari, 29, tried to attack them. David, who tried to intervene, was pushed to the ground and suffered an injury. While he was treated at a government hospital, a court sent Amutha, Suresh, and Santhakumari to jail.
