Chelsea have been given a positive update over their pursuit of Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo.
The 21-year-old is in demand after his impressive performances helped the Seagulls achieve a top six finish last season. At the start of the year, the Ecuadorian looked set to join Arsenal but is still awaiting his big-money, despite seeing former midfield partner Alexis Mac Allister complete a move to Liverpool.
Chelsea have been aiming to reach an agreement with Brighton, who are reported to value their prize asset in the region of £100million, as a result of Declan Rice’s imminent move to Arsenal. However, transfer journalist Gianluca Di Marzio is confident that the Blues will find a way to get their man.

“Chelsea will keep trying for Caicedo because he is their number one target and he wants to move to Chelsea,” Di Marzio told Wett Freunde . “His agents have already got Nicolas Jackson to Chelsea and Roberto De Zerbi has decided that Caicedo will not be part of his team anymore. It’s only a matter of time and price.”
Caicedo signed a new deal with Brighton in February, reportedly on the understanding that he would be allowed to leave in the summer, while allowing the south coast club to demand the highest possible fee. The midfielder gave an honest answer when recently asked about the possibility of joining Chelsea.
“It’s a big team, that’s true," Caicedo said . "A very historic team and I can’t say no because it’s a very big, historic, beautiful team. The city as well is beautiful.”
