Chelsea have been dealt a potential injury blow ahead of the FA Cup final against Liverpool.
The Reds are due to face Chelsea in the cup final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday. However, Chelsea could be without Mateo Kovacic for the clash after he suffered an injury against Leeds United.
Liverpool themselves are sweating over the fitness of Fabinho, who picked up a muscle injury in the win over Aston Villa on Tuesday night. It’s uncertain at this point how long the Brazilian will be on the sidelines for.

For Chelsea, they will be hoping that Kovacic recovers in time to face Liverpool at the weekend. The Croatia international was on the receiving end of a red card tackle from Leeds’ Dan James.
Kovacic lasted a few minutes after the challenge, before being forced to be withdrawn in place of Ruben Loftus-Cheek. After receiving medical treatment, Kovacic hobbled off the Elland Road pitch and went straight down the tunnel for further assessment.
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is likely to provide an update on Kovacic’s fitness after the match against Leeds. However, depending on the extent of the injury, it’s unlikely that a decision on the player’s availability to face Liverpool will be made anytime soon.
