Chelsea are reportedly plotting a summer move for Benfica wonderkid Diego Moreira. A piece from Portuguese outlet Record claims the 18-year-old is on Todd Boehly’s radar.
While the American has splashed the cash since buying the club last year, Moreira would be a risk-free transfer as his contract expires in June. Signing another winger may puzzle Chelsea fans but the prospect would join the youth ranks at Stamford Bridge.
Moreira has only made two senior appearances for Benfica but is enjoying a fine season for their second string, playing 19 times in the Liga Sabseg. The Blues failed to sign Brazilian sensation Endrick - losing out to Real Madrid - and have since switched their attention to Moreira.

Record go as far as to suggest the deal is done and he will pen a long-term contract at the end of the campaign. A left-footed, tricky wideman, Moreira is regarded as a pacy maverick akin to former Manchester United ace Nani.
Chelsea have already raided Benfica this year, with Enzo Fernandez arriving in January for a record-breaking fee. Jorge Mendes, his agent, also represents Moreira, a relationship understood to be key in completing the move.
Born in Belgium, the 18-year-old represented his country of birth at under-15 level before switching his allegiance to Portugal, where he has lived since joining Benfica in 2020. Moreira’s father, Almami, also represented Portugal’s youth ranks, as well as Partizan Belgrade and Dynamo Moscow at club level.
