Prospective Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is set to recruit a new head of analytics to change the current transfer methods at the club, according to reports. It follows a similar model to Liverpool, who have seen success since it has been implemented.
The change comes at a crossroads for the Blues, as the club looks to move on from a takeover saga that is entering its third month. With the Boehly-Clearlake bid seemingly close to getting over the line, focus will shift to how they will run the club, while in the short term there will be keen eyes on how the summer transfer window pans out.
Discussing plans for the upcoming market, Thomas Tuchel has claimed that he has some ideas as to where to improve: “We have clear ideas how to improve, how to freshen the squad, improve the squad, bring new energy and quality. Would not be the first transfer window where you have a wish and cannot make it as a coach. We will find solutions but first of all we must adapt to the general situation. Then we see if it is possible and what is possible.”
