Chelsea sale put on hold as Roman Abramovich is sanctioned by UK Government

Roman Abramovich has been sanctioned by the UK Government, freezing the Russian-Israeli billionaire's planned sale of Chelsea.

The Chelsea Football Club owner faces a ban on all transactions with UK businesses and individuals, as well as a travel ban and transport sanctions.

Others included in the sanctions are Igor Sechin, Oleg Deripaska and Dmitri Lebedev.
