Chelsea left it late to beat Crystal Palace on their return to Premier League action following their Club World Cup triumph.
Here’s how Thomas Tuchel’s side rated at Selhurst Park...
Edouard Mendy 6
Had little to do as Zaha and Olise put best Palace chances wide.
Andreas Christensen 5
Asked to fill in at right-back and while lack of attacking threat was expected he also struggled going the other way against Zaha.
Antonio Rudiger 6
Almost found the top corner with a cracking strike while largely solid at the back.
Thiago Silva 6
Typically untroubled even in a system that has occasionally threatened to expose him.
Malang Sarr 6
Superb pass created chance for Kante in a decent first-half showing but struggled after the break. Booked.
Jorginho 6
Did not control game in usual manner as Kouyate did a decent job of disrupting Chelsea rhythm.
N’Golo Kante 6
Shot straight at Guiata when presented with best opening of the first half but was the Blues’ main spark, which said it all.
Christian Pulisic 5
Given another opportunity as a No10 but was loose in possession. Couldn’t keep effort down when meeting Ziyech’s back post cross.
Hakim Ziyech 7
Cracking delivery set up early Pulisic chance. Had effort ruled out for offside but kept plugging away and got reward with late winner.
Kai Havertz 5
Showed encouraging signs during the Club World Cup but few of them here as he struggled to influence the game from the left.
Romelu Lukaku 4
Starved of service but this was an near-anonymous showing from the Belgian.
Substitutes
Mateo Kovacic (Jorginho 74’) 6
First touch created Lukaku chance from which Ziyech’s rebound was chalked off.
Marcos Alonso (Sarr 74’) 7
Came on to set up winner with superb back-post cross.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek (Kante 74’)
