Kepa Arrizabalaga - The Spaniard bounced back from criticism against Real Madrid to produce two outstanding first half saves as he first denied Kaoru Mitoma in the 27th minute before showing untold athleticism to deny Evan Ferguson's header shortly after. Rooted to the spot for Brighton's goal however. 6.
Trevoh Chalobah - Had a big task having not started in the Premier League since January up against Kaoru Mitoma. It was struggle for the Cobham product to contend with his foe for the most part but he did put in an outstanding last-ditch tackle in against the Japan international in the first half. A difficult day overall but looked much more comfortable when he moved into the centre for the latter third of the game. 3.
Wesley Fofana - The Frenchman had highs and lows during his 55 minutes on the pitch and produced an excellent double-tackle on Mitoma and showed some aggressive running from the backline which Chelsea have missed this season. Perhaps should have done better for Danny Welbeck's goal. 5.

Benoit Badiashile - A solid return for the young defender as he made his first start under Frank Lampard. Remains composed on the ball and a big presence in the backline. 6.
Ben Chilwell - Looked to aggressively attack the left side when provided with the opportunity but still looked to be working out his positioning alongside Mudryk. 6.
Conor Gallagher - Played a high role, almost as a second striker at times and pressed well from the front. Received a yellow card for an unnecessary foul but probably Chelsea's most impactful player in winning the ball and finding threatening positions. 7.
Enzo Fernandez - The World Cup winner once again showed his array of passing and ability to cover the pitch during his time on the field before presumably enjoying some rest ahead of Chelsea's midweek match. 6.
Denis Zakaria - The Swiss international found himself in some difficult positions in possession and as a result sometimes struggled to find the right option. Difficult return against quality opposition. 4.
Christian Pulisic - Struggled to have an impact during his time on the pitch but went close after some fantastic Chelsea play when he hit the post on the verge of half time. 4.
Raheem Sterling - Rarely could make his presence felt leading Chelsea's line as the Blues looked to pump the ball to him. 3.
Mykhailo Mudryk - Tested Joel Veltman from the off and forced the Dutch defender into a yellow card. Produced a good cross-field run to feed Gallagher for his goal. Petered out of the game after Veltman went off injured. Should have been utilised against Gross more frequently. 5.
Substitutes:
Reece James - Solid and provided a greater attacking outlet than Chalobah. 5.
Mateo Kovacic - Had to hold down midfield as Lampard looked to make a more aggressive approach. Was solid against a good opposition midfield. 5.
Hakim Ziyech - Had some good moments with James but would have hoped to find more opportunities. 5.
Joao Felix - Showed more of what he is good at with the ball at his feet but struggled to find the ball on occasions as Chelsea's focal point. 5.
Mason Mount - Had a rare Chelsea opportunity from distance but couldn't capitalise having received a strong ovation upon entering the pitch. 5.
