Chelsea are plotting a move to hire former Tottenham and RB Leipzig transfer expert Paul Mitchell as they look to overhaul their squad in the upcoming summer transfer window. The Blues have over 30 senior players at the club and Todd Boehly is looking to sell a number of first team stars ahead of next season.
Chelsea have spent more than any other Premier League club on new signings since Boehly arrived in west London - investing nearly £600million in just two transfer windows. Many of the new arrivals have not performed as expected, with the Blues languishing down in the bottom half of the Premier League.
Boehly is once again searching for a new permanent manager after taking the decision to sack Graham Potter - just six months after he replaced Thomas Tuchel - with former Spurs and PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino the current favourite for the role. Frank Lampard has failed to change the Blues' form since making a return to the club, having lost five consecutive games in all competitions.

Chelsea have freshened up their backroom staff throughout the season with Christopher Vivell becoming technical director at Stamford Bridge. The Daily Mail have now reported that the Blues want to bring Paul Mitchell to the club as they look to overhaul their playing squad.
Mitchell is an expert in the field of recruitment and has experience working with clubs at various levels of the English pyramid as well as with a host of clubs across Europe's top flights, including Monaco and RB Leipzig. Mitchell also has a strong relationship with Pochettino after they worked together at Southampton and Spurs.
Pochettino is the leading candidate to succeed Potter at Stamford Bridge after holding positive talks with Chelsea officials in recent weeks, football.london understands. There is still no agreement in place between the Blues and the Argentine manager, despite confidence being high that a deal can be struck between both parties.
If Pochettino is appointed, he will want to bring in a few of his own signings and trim down the playing squad. Chelsea will be hoping that Mitchell will come to the club and partner up with Pochettino once again, whilst being able to utilise his extensive list of contacts across Europe to help find new homes for some of their unwanted first team players.
