Chelsea continue to try and bring in new faces before the transfer window closes.
They have major holes in defence and attack that they need to address if they want to be competitive this summer following several months of change. Their lack of a No 9 was clear for all to see in their defeat last time out at Leeds United, which leaves them with four points from a possible nine.
The fallout from Thomas Tuchel's touchline row with Antonio Conte continues as report is released which states where the blame could lay after a mass brawl occurred at full-time recently. These are the latest news line making the headlines in west London.
Tuchel v Conte report released
Tuchel “quite clearly instigated the confrontation between himself and Conte”, an independent regulatory commission has found.
The Chelsea and Tottenham bosses got themselves in hot water after the pair clashed at the end of a thrilling London derby at Stamford Bridge earlier this month. Tension had been bubbling throughout the controversial 2-2 draw, but it was a post-match coming together which forced the Football Association to act.
Both were sent off by referee Anthony Taylor and his report of the incident has now been made public. "I have to report that I, as the referee, sent off Thomas Tuchel and Antonio Conte of Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur under Law 12: Physical or aggressive behaviour.
“At the final whistle the two managers, Mr Tuchel and Mr Conte shook hands at the side of the pitch which appeared to result in prolonged physical contact between them. As a result an aggressive confrontation ensued which caused a further mass confrontation involving the technical areas and players. Having shown Mr Tuchel and Mr Conte the red card I advised him to leave the field of play."
Fofana reprimanded
Leicester City's Wesley Fofana is being forced to train with the club's U23s after missing a first-team session after Chelsea saw a third transfer offer rejected for the defender.
The Foxes are looking to retain their star centre-bacl, who spent much of last season out injured, but prior to that had been a leading light as they claimed FA Cup glory. Fofana has been the subject of bids from the Blues, which appears to have turned his head as the transfer window nears its closure.
Brendan Rodgers saw Fofana fail to turn up for a training session last week with the 21-year-old being reprimanded as a result. The Leicester boss confirmed a third bid from Chelsea has been rejected as he seeks a swift resolution to the situation, which has been dragging on.
CHO eyed by 20 clubs
Callum Hudson-Odoi is on the verge of finally leaving Chelsea to join Bayer Leverkusen on loan.
The 21-year-old has spent his entire footballing career at the club since the age of six and broke into the first team as a teenager under Maurizio Sarri in 2018. But in recent seasons, Hudson-Odoi has often found himself on a peripheries and constantly being linked with a move away.
Bayern Munich infamously had a £70million bid rejected two years ago, but now the Wandsworth-born star is set to link up with another German outfit in the form of Leverkusen. According to Sky Sports, Bayer have won the race to sign Hudson-Odoi on a season-long loan after as many as 20 clubs expressed an interest in earning his signature.
