Here is your Chelsea morning digest on Monday, January 16.

Mudryk announced

Chelsea have announced the signing of Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhailo Mudryk on a eight-and-a-half-year contract. The 22-year-old was a long-term target for Arsenal before the Blues stepped in to bolster their frontline.

Upon his arrival at Stamford Bridge the Ukraine star said: "I’m so happy to sign for Chelsea. This is a huge club, in a fantastic league and it is a very attractive project for me at this stage of my career. I’m excited to meet my new team-mates and I’m looking forward to working and learning under Graham Potter and his staff."

Co-owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali explained their delight at completing the deal, adding: "We are delighted to welcome Mykhailo to Chelsea. He’s a hugely exciting talent who we believe will be a terrific addition to our squad both now and in the years to come. He will add further depth to our attack and we know he’ll get a very warm welcome to London."

It's said that the 47-year-old explained the project that is unfolding at Stamford Bridge - this was the first 'concrete step' in luring the Ukraine international away from Mikel Arteta's side.

Carney Chukwuemeka – He deserved to start today but unfortunately for the midfielder, he struggled to get into the game. He couldn't make the same impact as he has in recent weeks when coming off the bench. 6.

Hakim Ziyech – A few moments of showboating from the Moroccan which was refreshing to see. Looked lively in the first-half and the one Chelsea attacker that looked dangerous every time he had the ball. 7.

Kai Havertz – Was very quiet again in the first-half. Had a glorious chance on 32 minutes but couldn't guide his header on target. However, he more than made up for it with a fantastic header in the second-half – proving to be the winning goal for the Blues. 7.
