Chelsea’s poor season lurched from bad to worse on Saturday afternoon as they fell to a 2-1 defeat to Brighton.
Despite going ahead through Conor Gallagher, goals from Danny Welbeck and Julio Enciso flipped the game on its head at Stamford Bridge. The defeat - a third in a row in all competitions - leaves the Blues languishing in the bottom half of the table and sees their European hopes rapidly evaporating.
That run of form has seen Todd Boehly receive plenty of criticism from Blues fans and pundits alike. Take a look at the latest news coming out of Stamford Bridge over the past 24 hours right here:
Enrique ‘disappointed’ over Lampard call
Chelsea managerial candidate Luis Enrique has been left ‘disappointed’ by Boehly ’s decision to appoint Frank Lampard on an interim basis.
The Spaniard is one of the front-runners to claim the vacancy on a full-time basis following the sacking of Graham Potter. According to Spanish side AS, he wanted to take the reins immediately and wanted to oversee the Blues’ Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid, as well as the remainder of the Premier League season.
He could still arrive at Stamford Bridge next term, although Julian Nagelsmann and Ruben Amorim are both still being considered by Chelsea.
Roy Keane proven right
On the topic of Lampard, former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane has been proven right in the fact that the former would struggle to have an impact at Stamford Bridge. He previously suggested that the former Derby and Everton boss was fortunate to be handed a return.
Speaking on an episode of The Overlap fan debate in London, Keane declared: "Frank is a lucky boy. Frank has had some really good jobs, you need some luck in the game, but to go back in there?”

De Zerbi sends Potter message
Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi stuck the knife into Chelsea after his side’s win by thanking Graham Potter for his help in overcoming the Blues on Saturday.
"I have to say thanks to Graham Potter," the 43-year-old said after the full-time whistle. "I found a very great and strong team and I am now trying to give my idea."
Potter departed Brighton in October but lasted just six months at the helm at Stamford Bridge as he was sacked by Boehly despite putting pen to paper on a five-year deal.
