Jurgen Klopp spoken about Liverpool's failure to sign Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia, poking fun at the Chelsea pair in the process.
Both Caicedo and Lavia rejected moves to Anfield in favour of Stamford Bridge in the summer, with the Blues forking out more than £150million to sign the midfield duo.
Caicedo has since struggled to replicate the form at Brighton which saw Chelsea, and Liverpool, prepared to splash the cash, while Lavia is yet to make his debut after a succession injury setbacks.
Speaking on Monday at the Anfield Road Stand test event, Klopp was asked about his reshaped side and their march to top of the Premier League table and confirmed he believes the club dodged a couple of bullets with the third-choice signing of Wataru Endo.

“My god, we were lucky!” 🤣🤣🤣 pic.twitter.com/h0Rj56lQz1
He said: “The summer we had, we had a few strange things happen in the transfer market but here, between us, I can say ‘My god, were we lucky, eh?'”
“We didn’t know that in that moment and it didn’t feel like it in that moment, but yeah, I’m really happy that it worked out, but you never know before.
He added: “We obviously realised that other central defensive midfielders don’t want to join Liverpool, you see what happens, and then we found Endo. He’s an exceptional player ... He wanted to come definitely and that helps.”
