Graham Potter has hit back at those who accused him of not being angry enough as Chelsea were not awarded a penalty against West Ham in the Premier League. Conor Gallagher's shot was blocked by the hand of Tomas Soucek but not deemed to be worthy of handball call by referee Craig Pawson and VAR.
Potter commented that Soucek had made a 'good save' following the game but was deemed not to have been critical or angry enough about the decision during his media duties by Rio Ferdinand. The former Manchester United defender made comparisons with Premier League rivals Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola, as well as Jose Mourinho.
Ferdinand, along with Joe Cole, believed that having a greater complaint would have ensured the narrative discussed around the game would have drawn away from specific Chelsea issues due to the poor decision. That does not seem to be something Potter was too concerned about.
