Chase Young returned to the field for the Washington Commanders on Sunday and showed everyone why he can still be one of the NFL’s prominent defensive players.
In his first game action since the first preseason game, where he suffered a stinger, Young played a lot. He was all over the place, harassing Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson from start to finish in leading the Commanders to a 35-33 win.

After the game, Young spoke to reports and was clearly excited to be back on the field with his teammates.
“Just feeling blessed, man,” Young said. “Been a long time coming for me. Just a blessing to be running around on the field, being out there with 9-0 [DE. Montez Sweat] and the guys. That was the most exciting thing for me.”
Young, along with his fellow defensive linemen and quarterback Sam Howell, led the Commanders back from a 21-3 deficit. Reporters asked Young what it was like being down so early in the game.
“We never let it hit us,” Young said. They came out, a lot of trick plays here and there; it’s not like they were running the ball down on our throats, so, you know, in the second half, they ran out of those.”

The Commanders couldn’t have asked for more from Young in Sunday’s win.
