Charlton Athletic begin their League One campaign with a London derby as they host Leyton Orient.
It is an intriguing start for the Addicks as they attempt to improve on last season’s 10th-placed finish in the third tier, with a tough trip to Peterborough on the second weekend but more appealing fixtures on paper against Bristol Rovers and Port Vale following that.
Charlton’s only meeting with a fellow London side comes against Orient, and the second of those derbies will take place on Boxing Day.
Over the festive period, the club also travel to face Burton Albion and host Bristol Rovers.
There is a huge amount of uncertainty surrounding the club once more, with fans still sceptical about the incoming Charlie Methven and American investors.
Still, they managed to put that behind them somewhat for a strong cup run last season and there could well be fresh hope of a positive season at The Valley.
