Charlotte Crosby 'wasn't ever sure' she could have children after 2016 ectopic pregnancy

Charlotte Crosby announced she is expecting her first child with boyfriend Jake Ankers in an emotional Instagram post on Tuesday night.

The former Geordie Shore star, 31, said becoming pregnant was "a moment I wasn't ever sure I would be mine" after she devastatingly suffered an ectopic pregnancy in 2016 during her relationship with Gary Beadle, 34.

An ectopic pregnancy is when the foetus develops outside the womb, which can be fateful.

Charlotte recalled how she thought she "f**k, I’m not gonna be able to have kids" after she nearly died when doctors discovered she had been internally bleeding for a week after her fallopian tube was split open and had to remove right fallopian tube and ovary.

In the pregnancy announcement video, Charlotte broke down in tears as she shared her exciting news with her mother Letitia, while her dad told Jake he had "never seen my daughter so happy".

Charlotte previously spoke about her heart-breaking ectopic pregnancy and going through it alone as her former co-star and ex Gaz was away filming Ex On The Beach in 2016.

The television personality had been filming an advert for Geordie Shore: Big Birthday Battle and just thought she was having a bad period - but in reality she had been bleeding internally for a week.

Speaking on Geordie Shore: Their Story last year, Charlotte became emotional as she said: "The gynaecologist said, 'What’s happening to your body now is you’re having an ectopic pregnancy,' where the egg gets trapped in the fallopian tube and actually just starts to grow there until it can’t grow no more.'

"And I was literally on the verge of dying. If I'd left it any longer I just wouldn’t be here. Me fallopian tube had split open and I’d been internally bleeding for the last week, and then I got rushed into surgery.

"And the gynaecologist came in and told us that I had... had my right fallopian tube and ovary taken away. Straight away I just thought, 'F**k I’m not gonna be able to have kids', like, this is awful."

Charlotte found love with Manchester celebrity driver Jake, with the couple going public with their relationship in January (charlottegshore/Instagram)

Charlotte said on her podcast Values and Vibrators last year how she hasn't forgiven Gary for going on Ex On The Beach and sleeping with Jemma Lucy and taking part in a threesome while she was in hospital.

She said: "I will say now, it sounds so strange to even say this, because it's like crazy even re-talking about everything that he did and how he handled the whole situation.

"I don't even know how I can even say this. I haven't forgiven him, but it kind of is what it is and I don't hold a grudge against him any more."

Charlotte and Gary had an on-off relationship ever since the MTV show launched in 2011 but they split for good in 2016.

She has since found love with Manchester celebrity driver Jake, with the couple going public with their relationship in January.

The couple recently hinted about engagement plans, with Jake saying a proposal was coming in "due course" in an Instagram video.
