Welsh singer-songwriter Charlotte Church opens up about her childhood career as she chats to actress Kathy Burke in the second part of Channel 4 documentary, Growing Up. During the interview, the 37-year-old, who hails from Cardiff, discusses how she was thrust into the spotlight as a schoolgirl.
“I was 12 and then everything went totally bananas. For the first two years, it was a perfect little fairy story,” Charlotte tells Kathy in the documentary, which airs on Thursday, March 9. She then talks about how the media took particular interest in her during her teenage years.
Speaking about coming of age, Charlotte says: “Your first experience of snogging and having a fumble, then eventually sex. That’s huge in terms of who you think you are and how you interact with the world and who you fall in love with and who breaks your heart.”
