Veteran journalist Charlie Bird has given a sad health update to his followers by revealing his voice is "almost gone".
The former RTE reporter was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in October.
Charlie touched the hearts of the nation when he appeared on the Late Late Show last year and said he "cries everyday".
On Tuesday, the 72-year-old posted an old video of him and his dog Tiger singing.
He said: "Someone found this on Twitter recently . I put it up a few years ago.. In a way it is a stark reminder of how far I have now travelled. Today my voice is almost gone.
"But thankfully Tiger can still sing. I will still be climbing Croagh Patrick on April 2."
Charlie is climbing Croagh Patrick on April 2 with CervicalCheck campaigner Vicky Phelan to raise money for the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association and Pieta House.
Close to €150,000 has already been raised for the charities by the Climb With Charlie fundraiser.
