Warriors star Draymond Green’s future on the NBA court was a big topic of discussion during Thursday night’s The Match.
Green attended The Match to support his longtime teammates Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson take on Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce. Even though he was partaking in the fun on the sidelines, it was nearly impossible to avoid the topic of Green’s contract future.
The four-time All-Star declined his $27.5 million contract option for the 2023–24 season last week, which means he now will weigh a few options, including a new deal with the Warriors, a sign-and-trade or outright free agency.
While Green was talking during the competition, TNT analyst Charles Barkley couldn’t help but poke some fun at the Warriors forward.
“Draymond talks a lot for a guy that ain’t got no job,” Barkley said, which sparked some laughter from Green.

Of course, Green made sure to address his contract situation while driving around with NFL star Von Miller, even if it was in a joking manner.
“Thank God Von just got a new contract last year, he gon’ pay me my money that I’m winning today,” Green said, via a video from Bleacher Report. “And, hope to God I can get a new contract in a couple days.”
With NBA free agency beginning on Friday, June 30 at 6 p.m. ET, it’s possible Green could land his deal in a short while.
