A charity fundraiser has completed an incredible challenge of running a marathon every day in 2022.
Heroic Gary McKee completed his 365th marathon today, New Year's Eve, to rapturous applause and hugs from well-wishers who gathered to watch his stunning feat end. And he went on to reveal he's nearly hit his fundraising target of £1 million for two charities.
Gary, 53, from Cleator Moor in Cumbria, raised his arms in victory and was cheered by a crowd of supporters as he completed his final run. As of 4pm on Saturday, he had raised more than £890,000 for the charities Macmillan Cancer Support and Hospice at Home West Cumbria, just shy of his £1 million fundraising target.
