Charges dropped against 31-year-old man accused of stalking Sabrina Carpenter

Charges have been dismissed against a man accused of stalking Sabrina Carptener by repeatedly showing up at her Los Angeles home after he was found mentally incompetent to stand trial, the City Attorney's Office confirmed Wednesday.

Appearing for a mental competency hearing in a Hollywood courtroom on Tuesday, 31-year-old William Applegate was found unfit to stand trial, resulting in stalking and other charges against him being tossed despite the objection of city prosecutors, according to the City Attorney's Office.
