Warner Bros. Television Group chairman/CEO Channing Dungey is set to return to the Banff World Media Festival this June as a keynote speaker, as announced by the event organizers. Dungey will be joined by Fox Entertainment CEO Rob Wade in the lineup of summit series keynotes.
The Banff executive director expressed excitement about Dungey's participation, highlighting her expertise and influence in shaping the entertainment industry's future. Dungey oversees Warner Bros. TV Group's scripted, unscripted, and animated series across various platforms.
Prior to her current role, Dungey held positions such as vice president of original series at Netflix and president of ABC Entertainment. The Banff World Media Festival, now in its 45th edition, is scheduled to take place from June 9 to June 12, 2024, at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel in Banff, Alberta, Canada.
The festival's history of notable Summit Series keynote speakers includes industry figures like Jeffrey Katzenberg, Paula Kerger, Pearlena Igbokwe, Bela Bajaria, Ted Sarandos, and Maverick Carter. Attendees can expect behind-the-scenes master classes, over 1,200 networking opportunities, and more than 25,000 industry-related meetings.
For the upcoming edition, the festival will introduce a new segment focusing on music in screen media, titled 'Soundtrack.' Additionally, there will be a spotlight on international financing, co-production, technology, AI, and social media trends. The event will feature the Rockie Awards International Program Competition and the Rockies Gala as part of its programming.
