The last week has seen the British government's Ukranian refugee policies come under scrutiny, and the Gogglebox families shared their thoughts on it as they watched a BBC News segment in tonight's episode (March 18). The government announced their Homes for Ukraine policy on March 14, which will see British people offering to give bedrooms to in their own homes to Ukrainians.
And Lee was quick to criticise one element of the scheme tonight. Currently, to take a refugee into your home under the scheme, you will need to know their name, and Lee told Jenny this is "ridiculous".
And Mica also shared her thoughts with her partner Marcus. She said: "Not being funny, this isn't the first refugee situation, you know what I mean? How come only now there's incentives to encourage people to help refugees?"
Meanwhile, Baasit, who takes part on the show alongside his brother Umar and his dad Sid, said he was sceptical about the 'thank you' payment of £350 per month being given to homeowners taking in refugees.
He said: "The cynic in me is like, why have you called it that? That's a bit patronising." And his dad chimed in to agree, saying "call it what it is".
