To celebrate the7th anniversary of Smart Cities Mission, Chandigarh Smart City Limited (CSCL) on Saturday organised a visit to the state-of-art Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC), located in Sector 17. Around 70 students and research scholars from the Punjab Engineering College (PEC), Chandigarh and government schools of Chandigarh witnessed the ‘brain of city’ in action.

According to sources, the technical staff and other officials of the ICCC gave a full demonstration of the various services there. A quiz was also organised on the basis of the presentation given to the students. The winners were presented appreciation certificates. The students were also educated about the availabili- ty of open data on the IUDX platform that can be used by the scholars for R&D.

This was the first visit of the students to the ICCC, since its inauguration by the Union home minister Amit Shah in March. The governor of Punjab and administrator Chandigarh, Banwarilal Purohit had then asked the officers concerned to showcase the projects of the ICCC to the students of the city and show its working to the younger generation.
