Things could have been different for Nottingham Forest against Birmingham City, had one transfer move not gone their way.
Forest took the lead against the Blues just five minutes into the game, Keinan Davis striking past Neil Etheridge in the Birmingham goal. The striker joined the Reds on loan from Premier League side Aston Villa in the January transfer window.
He has impressed since joining the club, the goal against Birmingham his fifth for the club. But Forest did have to fight off competition for his signature.

During his commentary of the game with BBC Radio Nottingham, former Forest and Villa man Steve Hodge revealed one other possible destination for Davis in January. “Brilliant finish, I spoke to Lee Bowyer before the game and they tried to get Davis in the January transfer window, that's how big that goal is, it could have been their goal!” He said.
Being on loan from Villa, Davis took the chance to enjoy scoring against Birmingham by celebrating in front of the travelling fans.
Should Forest hold onto the lead, it will give them a major boost in the play-off race. If results stay the same then Forest will move up to third place in the Championship table, four points clear of seventh-placed Middlesbrough. Forest will also have a game in hand over their play-off rivals.
