Central Group expands to five European countries

The name Central is a household — if not the biggest — name in department stores in Thailand but you may not be aware of the full extent of its retail foothold in Europe.

Central Group has expanded its retail empire across key cities in Europe, namely Selfridges in the United Kingdom, Rinascente in Italy, KaDeWe in Germany, Illum in Denmark and Globus in Switzerland. To mark their Thai connection, Thai The1 members can collect points and enjoy special offers at these retail destinations throughout this year. Also, here's brief info on each European retail destination under the Central Group and what they have in store (see what I did).

Selfridges

Central Group and Signa closed the deal in August last year. Selfridges is in London and is considered an all-time popular department store on the must-visit list. Named the “Best Department Store In The World” at the Global Department Store Summit for four consecutive years, it carries more than 500 luxury brands, including Alexander McQueen, Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Cos, Gucci, Bvlgari and more.

Additionally, through collaborations with renowned artists, Selfridges brings vibrancy to its retail spaces throughout the year alongside endless activities at the cinema, restaurants, skateboard area and other lifestyle activities — making Selfridges one of the top all-in-one lifestyle destinations in the UK. The1 members can browse and shop for products at Selfridges.com from anywhere in the world.

Rinascente

With more than 150 years of history and classic Italian architecture, Rinascente is one of the best and most modern department stores in Italy. Famous tenants include Loewe, Zimmermann, Vivienne Westwood, Marni X Carhartt and Boyy. Customers can also enjoy personal shopper services for extra convenience. Rinascente On Demand services are also available for instant assistance by Italian staff via Line: @RinascenteOnDemand.

The Textile Wave campaign, featuring the best in home textiles, runs until March 15. The Maison Margiela Takeover runs until March 5 and the De Gusto Easter Edition campaign starts from March 16 to April 9.

KaDeWe

One of the most famous department stores in Germany and Europe, Berlin’s KaDeWe’s history dates back to 1907. The store features fashion brands such as Givenchy, Balmain, Jacquemus, Isabel Marant, Stella McCartney and Off-White.

A foodie playground is on the 6th floor offering a variety of restaurants and bars, including the new French restaurant Brasserie Hélène known for offering its customers a top-notch dinner.

Illum

As Copenhagen’s most luxurious department store, Illum has been modernised under the theme "Futuristic”, featuring brands from Scandinavia, as well as global brands in fashion, beauty and lifestyle, including a new Rimowa store, a new IRO shop, The Vintage Bar and a full-concept store from Celine, which opens end of March. Moreover, there are also Illum On Demand services where customers can chat with staff via WhatsApp.

This month, customers can enjoy the Valentine 2023 campaign with exclusive products and activities, along with the Beauty Campaign with products at special prices from March 1 onwards. Social butterflies shouldn’t miss out on the Party Campaign featuring endless fun and entertainment from mid-March.

Globus

Known as Switzerland's leading department store in Zurich, Globus caters to all shoppers. Globus greets customers with new brands across diverse product categories, including home and lifestyle such as Dyson, Assouline alongside fashion brands such as Prada Men, Zegna, Loewe and kid fashion brands such as Palm Angels and Marcelo Burlon. Beauty lovers can also enjoy brands such as Dr Barbara Sturm, Thameen London and the exclusive Globus "Beauty Days" campaign with special promotions, deals and activities from March 23 to Apr 9.

Thai customers who are The1 members can enjoy special offers and privileges at all the aforementioned stores.
