Centara Hotels & Resorts, Thailand’s leading hotel operator, will make its Japan debut with the launch of Centara Grand Hotel Osaka. Based on what we know so far and our previous reports, Centara's first property in Japan looks to be a grand and promising foothold.
Set to open in July, this contemporary hotel aspires to be an architectural masterpiece with five-star service. It soars into the sky at 33 storeys, featuring various accommodation types, seven diverse dining venues and event spaces. The gleaming tower overlooks Namba, Osaka’s most vibrant entertainment and retail district, making it a prime location for business or leisure travellers.
Solo visitors, couples and families are all welcome as there will be 515 rooms and suites, ranging from 28-60m² in size, and they come in various categories namely Standard, Superior, Deluxe, Deluxe with Bunk Beds and Suite. Every room has floor-to-ceiling windows, Nespresso machines, Smart TVs, rain showers and high-speed Wi-Fi. Those staying on the executive floors from the 26th to the 31st will also have access to the Club Lounge.
Osaka is Japan’s culinary capital and Centara Osaka will further add to this reputation with seven restaurants and bars. Kunsei Kitchen is a dramatic top-floor smokehouse where innovative cuisine is paired with fine wines and panoramic views, while Whiskey Nova is a stylish steakhouse where prime meats are accompanied by an extensive collection of whiskeys and wines on the 32nd floor.
Embassy Of Crab showcases succulent Osaka's seafood, including its signature crab dishes, and Suan Bua reflects Centara’s proud Thai heritage with Southeast Asian fare. Light bites and homemade pastries can be had at Platform 2 Café. Automata is a futuristic self-service cocktail bar on the 32nd floor where guests can create their own concoctions.
Last but not least is Crudo Deck where guests can sip sunset cocktails and savour world-class cuisine as a resident DJ spins upbeat tunes. This 90m² rooftop venue doubles as a spectacular setting for events.
Speaking of events, a lavish affair can be arranged at the 351m² Grand Ballroom, which can be divided into two smaller spaces, while three other meeting rooms, ranging from 26-30m², are for intimate functions. Guests can work out in the fitness centre or enjoy soothing therapies at the Thai-inspired Spa Cenvaree, which features four treatment rooms, a foot massage area and a Thai massage room.
Osaka, Japan’s second-largest city, is home to an amazing array of attractions from historical landmarks like Osaka Castle and Shitennoji Temple to modern marvels such as Universal Studios and Osaka Aquarium. Namba, the downtown district that surrounds the hotel, is filled with retail malls, restaurants and bars.
