The SPFL have released far more incendiary statements than the one they issued yesterday which announced they had put out an Invitation to Tender for the live UK broadcast rights for William Hill Premiership matches from the 2029/30 season.

Confirming that no away fans would be in attendance at top flight matches between Celtic and Rangers this season, to give one example, provoked a far stronger reaction from most Scottish football supporters.
