Celtic transfer rumour confirmed as Ange Postecoglou confirms exit plan for Parkhead attacker

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that they are looking at options for a loan move to get Mikey Johnston regular minutes.

The 23-year-old has been held as a promising player to come out of the Lennoxtown academy system but has been struck with injury problems over the past couple of seasons. Belgian club Standard Liege - managed by former Celtic manager Ronny Deila - has been mooted as one potential landing spot while pundits have tipped him for Hibs as a Premiership option.

There are UK opportunities too according to reports and the Parkhead manager has announced that he's looking at chances for Johnston to play more often. He can see a player within the attacker but a new, temporary home could help him. Postecoglou said: "We're working with Mikey on that. "There's definitely a talented footballer there, but sometimes you just need a different environment to help that happen."
