Celtic transfer clue as midfielder confirms Premier League club have shown interest

Celtic midfielder Matt O'Riley has confirmed that he is aware that English Premier League club Leicester City are interested in him.

The Danish youth midfielder joined the Hoops in January from MK Dons and has made an immediate impression at Parkhead. He is set to be a key player in a Premiership campaign that starts on Sunday at home on flag day versus Aberdeen. O'Riley's form is said to have prompted Leicester - managed by former Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers - admiration.

Speaking to Bold, the former Fulham youth player says it's nice to have the admiration but his full focus is on Glasgow matters: “I've heard a bit about the interest from Leicester, but it's not something I'm thinking about right now. The transfer window is quite crazy with rumours and interest, but I am aware that Leicester quite like me. Right now though, I think Celtic is a good place to be."

He added: "I have good friends around me, my relationship with the coach is good, and the fans are very special.

"I feel that Celtic is the perfect place for me, but of course it's great to have interest, because it means I'm playing well.

"A lot has happened, yes. Maybe a little too much. I try not to think too much about the future, but of course it's nice for me to know that a club like Leicester is interested."
