Celtic are facing fresh strife ahead of their South Korea tour this month after replacements Incheon United all but admitted defeat in their hopes of staging a match against the Hoops.
Brendan Rodgers' side are supposed to be playing in South Korea after they visit Japan as part of their pre-season preparations. Their glamour clash with Wolves on July 26 was cancelled after the Molineux club pulled out because of financial concerns about the trip, with Jose Mourinho's Roma also withdrawing previously.
Organisers Stadium X stated they were trying to arrange a replacement game instead for Celtic and were hopeful of a game against K-League outfit Incheon United. However, Incheon appear to have given up on any prospect of facing Celtic. They stated: "Sadly, it will now be practically impossible to arrange any friendly matches this month against European opposition at this short notice. It is highly regrettable we are not able to please our supporters with a game against a big club and we apologise to those who were awaiting such a prestigious game."
