Celtic team news for Ross County clash confirmed as Tomoki Iwata decision made

Celtic are in the Highlands looking to maintain their relentless pursuit of a second successive Premiership title.

They take on Ross County six points ahead of Rangers who were 2-0 winners yesterday and they are determined there will be no slip-up as they get set to take on their great rivals next Saturday when Celtic Park will be full of home fans only after it was decided by both clubs to lock out away supporters.

Ange Postecoglou had revealed that Liel Abada, Tony Ralson and James Forrest would all miss the game and he had some decisions to make in the middle of the park too. However, there is a settled look to the back line with Greg Taylor seemingly recovered from a knock and, of course, Kyogo Furuhashi leads the attack.

As expected Reo Hatate misses out which is a blow to Postecoglou, especially with the derby on the horizon, while Aaron Mooy is also missing so the midfield area is severely disrupted with Callum McGregor the mainstay after 180 minutes for Scotland during the international break.

And Postecoglou has put his faith in Tomoki Iwata who comes in for his first start along with Matt O'Riley. Youngsters Ben Summers and Rocco Vata are on the bench.

Celtic: Hart; Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Starfelt, Taylor; O'Riley, McGregor, Iwata; Jota, Furuihashi, Maeda.

Subs: Bain, Haksabanovic, Turnbull, Kobayshi, Oh, Bernabei, Summers, Welsh, Vata

Ross County: Laidlaw, Randall, Cancola, Iacovitti, Loturi, Harmon, White, Brophy, G. Edwards, Smith, Kenneh.

Subs: Munro, O.Edwards, Callachan, Sims, Watson, Murray, Hiwula, A. Samuel, Stones
