Celtic submit application for new Glasgow city centre store

Celtic have submitted planning permission for a new city centre store.

The club already have a shop located near four corners on Argyle Street, although this new venture would see them open a much bigger outlet on Queen Street, next door to Primark.

Celtic have applied to Glasgow City Council for planning approval for the display of one internally illuminated fascia sign and two internally illuminated freestanding signs behind glazing at 6 Queen Street, G1 3DX.

The application was received by the council on Tuesday, February 4, and can be viewed here.

Planned images of the shopfront, which can also be accessed online, show, in luminous green writing, 'CELTIC FOOTBALL CLUB' on the front, with a club crest on one side and the Adidas logo on the other.

It remains to be seen when the proposed new store will be opened.

The club have locations across Scotland, such as Braehead, Coatbridge, Clydebank, and Glasgow Airport. Their flagship 'Superstore' is located just outside Celtic Park.
