Johnny Kenny has left Celtic to join Preston North End on a permanent four-year deal, bringing an end to his four-year spell with the Scottish champions.
The Irish striker heads for the EFL Championship after making 32 first-team appearances for Celtic and scoring seven goals.

Kenny joined the Parkhead side from Sligo Rovers in 2022 as one of Ireland’s most highly rated young forwards, but he found regular opportunities difficult to come by amid fierce competition for places in Celtic’s attacking ranks.
He spent time away from Glasgow on loan during his development before returning to force his way into the senior picture. Kenny contributed seven goals across his 32 outings, but Celtic have now sanctioned a permanent exit as he looks to establish himself in England.

Preston have handed the forward a lengthy four-year contract, signalling their belief that the 23-year-old can develop into an important asset at Deepdale.
His move gives Kenny the chance to secure consistent first-team football in the Championship, while Celtic continue to reshape their squad ahead of the Scottish transfer deadline and their Europa League registration cut-off.
