Celtic star Josip Juranovic would walk into any team he joins with 'that good' verdict delivered

Josip Juranovic will be a first team player anywhere he goes because he is that good.

That's the verdict of Celtic hero Frank McAvennie as speculation over the future of the Hoops full-back rumbles on. Ange Postecoglou swooped to bring in the right-back last summer in a £2.5million deal from Legia Warsaw but 18 months on and he looks set to leave the Scottish champions in a big money deal.

Atletico Madrid are believed to have had a scout in attendance as the 27-year-old excelled for Croatia against Brazil. He played a major role in knocking out the World Cup favourites at the quarter-final stage. Real Sociedad have also been mentioned while reports in Spain suggest Barcelona also have an eye on him while Manchester United and Chelsea have previously been mentioned with regards to the Celtic star.

Juranovic is under contract at Parkhead until 2026 but is reported to have failed to come to an agreement on fresh terms before the World Cup and he could now move on in January. The arrival of Canada international Alistair Johnston is another hint that something could be bubbling away in the background with the winter window just weeks away.

Speaking to Football Insider, he said: "Anywhere he goes he will be a first team player, he is that good.

“There is obviously something in the wind because they have just bought Johnston. He got caught a few times for Canada but that is to be expected.

“When you play for Canada you are under the cosh all the time, he will not be at Celtic. So he will have time to become a good player.

“I think Juranovic can defend a bit better than him. As a defender Juranovic is the best."
