Celtic chiefs are reportedly ready to pull the trigger on a transfer deal to sign Adam Idah.
It's claimed the Celtic board are preparing to push forward for a permanent deal for the Norwich striker.
The Daily Record claim Brendan Rodgers left club supremos in no doubt that he wanted a full-time deal for the Ireland forward.
Idah scored the all-important winner for Celtic in the Scottish Cup Final 2024 triumph over Rangers at Hampden on Saturday.
It's reported Celtic chiefs are all-in on backing Rodgers and delivering Idah for the manager after his successful loan spell after joining in January.
Earlier reports suggested a £6m fee would be required to take Idah from the English Championship club on a permanent contract.
However, there could be complications with Norwich still without a manager after David Wagner was sacked.
The situation could mean a new manager wanting time to assess Idah before sanctioning any permanent switch back to Scotland.
The report suggests Celtic, though, are working "on the assumption" Idah will be back next season.
Rodgers said on Saturday that he is keen on a permanent swoop for Idah.
The Celtic manager commented: "Hopefully very realistic. For me, he was the catalyst for our season because we needed a different dimension up front and the big guy comes in and he's got so much potential.
" What I love about Adam is he's a big game player, he loves the big games and the big occasions so hopefully we can do something.
"He's still got a long term deal at Norwich but he's definitely someone I'd love to bring back here.
"At 23, with the potential he has and the qualities he has, I think he can really push on in his career."
The striker said of a move to Celtic: "But what happens next is not up to me. Football works in strange ways. I'm still contracted at Norwich. I'll have my time off and enjoy it as much as I can, and I'll see what happens.
"I've certainly got a few messages asking me to stay. We set targets and that was getting to two trophies and we've done that. We got the job done so let's see what happens now.”
