Celtic have lost out to Bordeaux in the hunt for striker Zan Vipotnik after his club confirmed they were offers from five clubs for him.
The Hoops are sitting on a fortune after the £25 million sale of Jota to Saudi Arabia and are ready to splash out on new recruits to their squad.
They have been linked with Maribor hitman Vipotnik and the Slovenian striker had plenty of interest after netting 23 goals last season.
However, he's opted to move to Bordeaux instead in a £2.5 million deal.
Maribot sports director Marko Suler said: "I can confirm there were five official offers for Zan from clubs across Europe.
"Zan decided he wanted to sign for Bordeaux though and we accepted their offer after a meeting of the board."
The 21-year-old was called up for Slovenia for the first time earlier this year after his successful time at home.
Meanwhile, the fee Celtic will pay to buy Yang Hyun-jun has been revealed.
It emerged yesterday that the young striker, 21, looks set to finally get his wish of a move to the Scottish champions.
The Daily Record now says that the Gangwon star will move for around £2.1million.
Yang has been pushing for the move for some time now after he became a prime target of Brendan Rodgers.
He even offered to pay his club, who are fighting relegation from the K-League, his salary to clear the way for his dream switch.
