Sky Sports reports that negotiations are progressing well, with the structure of the package the main remaining point to be agreed.
Mahmic, 21, has three years left on his Slovan Liberec contract. He scored twice for Bosnia-Herzegovina at this summer’s World Cup and would add to Celtic’s summer recruitment.
Kasper Hogh and Camilo Duran are among the arrivals to make an early impact. Duran scored twice and Benjamin Nygren also found the net as Celtic beat LASK 3-0 at Parkhead on Wednesday.
The victory came in the first leg of their Champions League play-off tie, leaving Celtic in a position ahead of the return leg in Austria.
