Rumours are swirling on social media that Celtic Park could finally be about to make its long overdue FIFA debut - and Hoops supporters are absolutely buzzing at the prospect.
Parkhead has never been included in football's most popular console game but last night's news that Rangers have entered into an agreement with manufacturers EA Sports to include Ibrox in the forthcoming edition has fans across the city waiting with bated breath. The Gers announced their participation in FIFA 23 on social media last night, ending a previous relationship with rival game Pro-Evolution Soccer and their distributors Konami, but eager Celtic fans are still waiting on an update of their own.
With Champions League nights back in the east end of Glasgow for the first time in five years, the potential of having one of Europe's most iconic amphitheatres finally inducted into the FIFA family is a thrilling prospect but it remains to be seen whether EA will be able to replicate the seething cauldrons of passion and deafening noise reserved only for the visit of the continent's elite.
But regardless, the mere suggestion has supporters champing at the bit, with one saying on social media: "If Celtic Park is in the new FIFA I'll not be seen from October until Christmas."
Another added: "Scenes if Celtic Park gets added to FIFA 23."
And a third concluded: "I swear if Celtic Park features in FIFA 23 I will be suited and booted for Manager Mode."
FIFA 23 is due to be released officially on September 30.
