Bulgari celebrates the 75th anniversary of Serpenti with a little caffeine.
In front of the Bulgari boutique on Emporium’s M Floor, a pop-up retail space presents a display of the latest Serpenti watches, jewellery and leather goods. In addition, an illy coffee bar invites shoppers to enjoy an Original Tales or Serpenti Sparkler beverage.
The special coffee blends are inspired by the “Bulgari Serpenti 75 Years Of Infinite Tales” campaign. Likewise, the delightful desserts including Serpenti’s Sunrise and Serpenti’s Hidden Gems pay tribute to the maison’s icon.
Bulgari introduced the snake motif in jewellery watches in 1948. The stylised serpent featured a supple linked body, crafted employing the ingenious Tubogas technique. The flexible tubular band of precious metal, obtained without soldering, was an expression of its innovative spirit.
The legendary jewellery house was founded in Rome in 1884 by Sotirio Bulgari while the Trieste-based coffee company was established in 1933 by Francesco Illy. Two years later, he revolutionised coffee preparation by inventing the illetta, considered the blueprint for modern espresso machines. Sharing the same innovative spirit as the Roman jeweller, illycaffè has a become a world reference for coffee culture and excellence.
Until April 25, the collaboration between the two Italian brands is enhanced by celebrity baristas.
On Easter Sunday, the exclusive coffee will be paired with chocolate. Next week, Black Cocco (espresso with coconut water topped with foi thong) will mark the Songkran festival.
