BIJNOR: The Uttar Pradesh food safety and drug administration (FSDA) department has made it mandatory for all medical store owners in the state to install CCTV cameras to keep a check on the sale of narcotics without a doctor’s prescription, especially to the youth.
The order was issued amid growing concerns about the illegal consumption of drugs among youngsters.
Amroha district drugs inspector (DI) Rajesh Kumar told TOI on Tuesday, “The case of drug abuse among children and youth is increasing. Therefore, both wholesalers and retailers have been asked to install CCTV cameras within a month, else action will be taken against them.”
