CCTV released after woman spits on passenger on Scots train

Cops are hunting a woman who spat at another passenger on board a train to Edinburgh.

The woman was travelling on an Avanti service from London Euston to Edinburgh at around 7pm on Friday June, 9, when the incident happened.

Officers say that the victim, who was travelling with her boyfriend, was spat at by the young woman who left the train at Carlisle station.

Police are keen to speak to this woman and hope she can help with inquiries (British Transport Police)

The woman in the CCTV image may have information which could help cops with their investigation.

The British Transport Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.

A spokesperson for the force said: "If you recognise her, or have any information, please contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 630 of 09/06/23.

"Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
