CCTV appeal as police look to trace man after bank card stolen during Heaton burglary and used in shop

Police are looking to trace a man following a burglary in Newcastle.

An offender broke into a property on Heaton Park Road in Heaton between 6am and 7.30am on May 20.

A handbag which contained the victim’s bank card and mobile phone was stolen. A short time after the burglary, the bank card was fraudulently used in a nearby premises.

Northumbria Police launched an investigation following the incident last month.

They have now identified a man who they would like to speak to in connection with the burglary. The male was seen in the shop at the time that the card was used and may have information to assist their investigation.

The man, or anyone who recognises him, is asked to contact the force.

They can do this via the 'Tell Us Something' page of their website or by calling 101 quoting crime number 063076H/23. Alternatively, they can email 3938@northumbria.police.uk.
