CBS Has a Smart Reason for Having Jim Nantz, Tony Romo Calling Dreadful Patriots-Raiders Game

The Patriots (1-4) and Raiders (2-3) are squaring off today in Las Vegas for a matchup between two struggling teams that are both under. 500 and heading in the wrong direction as the 2023 NFL season progresses. 

Fans watching today’s game on CBS might be wondering one thing—why in the world are Jim Nantz and Tony Romo, the network's lead broadcast team, on the call for this one?

The answer has to do with this year’s Super Bowl, which probably won’t feature either of these teams but will be played at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. This gives the CBS crew a chance to get a feel for the stadium before coming back in February.
