Catherine Zeta-Jones revealed she dreamed of playing James Bond after being given the seal of approval by Sean Connery himself.
The actress, who most recently appeared as Morticia Addams in Netflix's hit series Wednesday, says she 'would have loved' to become the first female 007 agent.
She said her pal, the late Sean Connery, even told her that she would have made a 'great Bond'.
"I would have loved to have played Bond," the actress explained.
"I had such a wonderful relationship with Sean Connery — we did a movie called Entrapment years ago — and he was like my elder brother, my dad, my support. I really loved him."
Sean was the first actor to play James Bond and took on the role between 1962 and 1983.
“I am a Bond fanatic and he said to me once, ‘You would have made a great Bond, girl’. I asked, ‘A Bond girl or Bond?’," she added.
"He went, ‘Bond — girl’. I said, ‘Oh my gosh, I would have loved to have played Bond!’ But I think that time has passed."
Seven actors in total have portrayed the 007 agent in movies.
After Sean, David Niven, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, and Daniel Craig assumed the role.
Meanwhile, Bond boss Barbara Broccoli has been on the search for the new Bond after Daniel said his goodbyes in No Time To Die.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson has been named as one of the frontrunners in line to replace Daniel.
The actor, 32, has emerged as a surprise favourite to take over the character in the eponymous film franchise after it was reported he had taken part in a screen test.
He is not as well-known as the other actors who have been tipped to take on the role, including Tom Hardy, James Norton and Idris Elba.
However, fans will know him from movies such as Bullet Train, Avengers: Age of Ultron as well as the Kick-Ass movies.
A source reportedly revealed that Aaron had impressed Barbara during his trial, which took place at Pinewood Studios.

One insider told The Sun : “Aaron went for a screen test to be the next Bond in September and producers and Barbara loved him.
"He is now one of the frontrunners.”
Many of the favourites to take on the role have been ruled out as Bond producer Michael G Wilson previously revealed they are looking for someone in their 30s.
Bond producer Michael G. Wilson told The Sun: "We’ve tried looking at younger people in the past.
"But trying to visualise it doesn’t work. Remember, Bond’s already a veteran.
"He’s had some experience. He’s a person who has been through the wars, so to speak. He’s probably been in the SAS or something.
"He isn’t some kid out of high school that you can bring in and start off. That’s why it works for a 30-something."
