Catch rising star Alia Bhatt's films on Netflix

After ruling the screen and stealing hearts as the bewitching Gangubai Kathiawadi, British-Indian star Alia Bhatt is back again in Darlings, a new dark comedy where a mother-daughter duo is pitted against a male-dominant world.

In her latest film, Bhatt plays a femme fatale named Badru who hopes her volatile husband will reform if he stops drinking. But when his rage goes too far, she and her mum boldly, albeit clumsily, seek revenge.

“Darlings is special. The moment I read the script, I wanted to be a part of the film not only as an actor, but to play a larger role in bringing such unique stories to viewers. I can’t hold back my excitement as we unveil the hard work of some amazing co-actors, partner producers and [director] Jasmeet [K. Reen]. It’s an engaging tale that we all can’t wait to bring you through Netflix,” said Bhatt.

Besides Darlings, there are more Indian masterpieces starring Bhatt now available on Netflix.

Kapoor & Sons

Kapoor & Sons tells a story of two estranged brothers who return home to visit their ill grandfather and are forced to confront their unresolved rivalry while their parents’ marriage frays.

Udta Punjab

Udta Punjab explores drug abuse and the darker side of Punjab, interweaving tales of a cop, a doctor, a migrant worker and a rock star.

Gangubai Kathiawadi

The critically acclaimed Gangubai Kathiawadi has earned itself an “unmissable” badge as one of Bhatt’s most epic works. The film centres on a young woman who’s duped and sold to a brothel but fearlessly reclaims her power, using underworld connections to preside over a world that once considered her a pawn.
