CastleCourt has announced that they hope to open the redevelopment of the former Debenhams site by the end of the year. Taking to social media, the Belfast shopping giant has been teasing customers with short clips of progress so far.
In March, a cinema and a family entertainment and adventure specialist were given the green light to create a multi-offer proposition. Omniplex Cinema Group will occupy 30,000 sq ft with luxury cinema brand "The Avenue" with the family entertainment scheme taking up 50,000sq ft.
Sharing videos of inside the redevelopment, CastleCourt confirmed that the ground floor will be "a mix of retail and the new flagship Starbucks" and the first floor will be "The Avenue Cinema and a Leisure/Entertainment scheme".

A post on their Facebook page read: "WOW we had no idea so many of you were interested in the redevelopment project Our marketing manager uploaded these behind-the-scenes videos of her site tour to our instagram stories on Friday, and we have been inundated!
"The redevelopment project at the old Debenhams unit is on track, reopening with several new retailers and leisure options."
A caption in the video revealed that the cinema and entertainment space is expected to be fully open in December 2022. The other opening dates will vary depending on the retailer.
