Carlton GP Ian Campbell gives his opinion on the ongoing situation in Ukraine and what he thinks of refugees who are seeking to come to the UK. Dr Campbell works at Jubilee Park Medical Practice.
Just a few weeks ago we started to think we might be emerging from the worst of the Covid-19 pandemic. The prospect of a new war in Europe, not only in Ukraine, but perhaps further afield across the continent too was far from our minds. Millions of people, men women and children, who have had to leave behind everything they possess, now face a bleak, uncertain future. The United Kingdom is rightly opening its doors to allow some people at least to take refuge here. But can we cope?
