Luke Jackson hailed Carl Frampton as a "true hero" after the Belfast man showed his support to his former opponent who is facing a massive veterinary bill to save his pet dog.
Jackson's canine pal Chevy has been receiving round-the-clock treatment for the past 12 days.
A fundraising appeal was launched on Monday to help the 38-year-old Australian boxer pay for a massive vet's bill which now stands at over $31,000.

Family, friends and boxing fans have rallied to donate over $13,000 in just over 24 hours.
And Belfast legend Frampton showed his own generosity by donating $2,000 on Wednesday morning after reading about Jackson and Chevy's ordeal.
Boxing fans will fondly remember Jackson after he fought Frampton at Windsor Park back in 218, helping the Jackal realise a lifelong dream of fighting at the international stadium, home of Northern Ireland football.
Jackson tweeted afterwards: "Thank you @RealCFrampton True hero."

Jackson told Belfast Live earlier this week: "We nearly lost Chevy on Saturday because he was so sick, but I am hoping he can pull through.
"People are amazing. I didn't and wouldn't ask for anything, yet they have come out and supported me this way.
"I am selling my car to help pay the bill which is currently at $31,000. My friend also made the GoFundMe page to try and take some of the pressure off. I am overwhelmed by the response.
"It has been a very emotional two weeks but hopefully everything works out."
He added: "I truly believe Chevy saved me from hurting myself many times over the last 13 years.
"He has such a special place in my life and heart and that's why I am doing everything I can to save him."
